Visitors welcomed to learn more about Emirati and Arab creativity with a showcase of eight ADMAF publications and twelve ADMAF-funded books

Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation showcases its library of cultural publications during the 2016 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

Displaying eight seminal publications and twelve funded publications, the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) is highlighting its firm commitment to the development of arts, culture and literature during the 2016 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. Continuing until May 3rd at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), ADMAF’s stand (11H02) welcomes visitors to stop by and learn more about Emirati and Arab creativity through its numerous publications, while exploring the importance of Arabic literature through various publications it has supported in recent years.

Celebrating ADMAF’s 20th anniversary, ADMAF20 – a luxury limited edition bilingual publication - commemorates 20 years since the Foundation’s establishment and looks back at the story of the Foundation from its early beginnings to today through the people who have played an essential role in its development and those whose careers have been nurtured by it. Showcasing ADMAF’s numerous other publications, the stand also features recent books including Portrait of a Nation from the landmark Abu Dhabi Festival 2016 exhibition of contemporary Emirati art at Emirates Palace Gallery; Art of the Emirates, a coffee table book documenting the UAE’s visual arts landscape; and 25 Years of Arab Creativity: The Arab Contemporary Art Scene Today among others.

Highlighting ADMAF’s ongoing commitment to the development of Arabic literature and the Emirati literary sector, the stand also showcases recent ADMAF-funded publications including Take Off Your Shoes By Yasser Hareb, Women in a City By Alya Ibrahim, Cities, Travelling & Leaving By Aysha Sultan, I Love My Mom’s Pretty Veil by Maitha Al Khayat, and The Bedouin Penguins By Asma Al Ketbi among several others.

Visitors to ADMAF’s stand are also be able to view ADMAF 20th anniversary film Awakening A Dream which explores its legacy. Shot across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and beyond, this short film examines the Foundation’s impact on the cultural and creative industries, on education and the community – reflecting the vision of Abu Dhabi as a global cultural capital.
