H.E. Hoda I. Al Khamis-Kanoo, Founder of ADMAF & Professor Hamid Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah. signing MOU 18th Nov 2014


Today, the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Sharjah to deepen ties and find new ways to foster creativity, cultural engagement and arts educational initiatives for the benefit of UAE nationals. The agreement was signed by H.E. Hoda I. Al Khamis-Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF), and Professor Hamid Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah.


The MOU acknowledges that both parties will aim to collaborate on activities that foster creative and critical thinking among students and young people, inspiring the creative leaders of tomorrow through carefully designed programmes that nurture cultural leadership skills and qualities. Both parties will also seek to organise and support Study Abroad and Student Exchange Programs that develop greater cultural understanding and independent thought among students; promoting the global character of Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, strengthening the direct crossover between both organisations, ADMAF has agreed to create internship positions for University of Sharjah students at ADMAF, offering practical, real world experience to students in support of ADMAF’s initiatives.


H.E. Hoda Al Khamis-Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, commented on ADMAF’s deepening relationship with the University of Sharjah: “Education is at the heart of ADMAF’s vision to embed a spirit of cultural innovation among youth. This MOU represents our ongoing commitment to nurturing the arts, education, culture and creativity among the nationals across all emirates of the UAE. We share many common principles with the university, and we look forward to seeing our combined efforts come to fruition as the UAE continues to foster a strong and creative national workforce.”


Each year, ADMAF continues to expand its network of national strategic partners, collaborating with many organisations from the cultural sector, the NGO sector, the education sector, the health sector and the private sector. Ensuring AMDAF’s work reaches out to audiences across the whole of the UAE, this strong network helps deepen the impact of the organisation’s work and embed the sustainability of its projects. This MOU signing with the University of Sharjah represents the latest signing in a long-list of high calibre partnerships that includes strategic partnerships with Zayed University, UAE University, Higher Colleges of Technology, and New York University – Abu Dhabi, and Zayed Higher Organisation.
