Emirati Young Media Leaders honored at graduation

Students from the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) Young Media Leaders programme were welcomed this evening in the majlis of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and President and Patron of ADMAF, to celebrate their successful completion of the unique nine-month vocational development course.

The 16 young Emirati students each received a certificate accredited by twofour54 tadreeb and ADMAF. The intensive course focused on a series of workshops, field trips,and training in photojournalism, broadcasting, news writing and online media. Speaking after the event H.E. Hoda I. Al Khamis-Kanoo, Founder of ADMAF said the programme, now in its 6th edition, was growing stronger and more popular each year.

“This 6th year celebration of the YML programme is testament to the hard work and inspiration behind ADMAF’s pursuit to inculcate young Emirati students with the necessary skills to become high-level media professionals. By encouraging creative thought and fuelling their ambition we hope to help foster a generation of media players that will reflect the long-term vison of Abu Dhabi as international hub for arts and culture and a prominent media hub within the wider region.”

Mrs Kanoo added, “Ultimately, the YML programme is the fruit of a strategic partnership between ADMAF, twofour54, Zayed University, HCT and UAEU. The success of the YML project lies in developing the core skills of the 136 students that have so far participated in the course and through ongoing training initiatives that places them alongside current media professional from cutting edge news gathering institutions.”
