Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation supports the Arab Culture Forum in Ajman

Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) has announced its support for the Arab Culture Forum starting 9 November in Ajman under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman. The fourth edition of the forum, which discusses issues related to the Arabic publishing sector , will be staged by the Ajman Culture and Media Department, and is entitled ‘The Book: Maker of Cultures and Muse of Leaders’.

Hoda Al Khamis Kanoo, ADMAF Founder, confirmed the foundation’s support as Diamond Sponsor for the Arab Culture Forum. This reflects the foundation’s belief in the importance of the event to facilitate cultural dialogue, nurture Arabic literature and contribute to the progression of the region’s publishing industry.

She said: “With every passing day, the Emirates witness achievement after achievement. We have become the Emirates of knowledge, cultural development and innovation; the Emirates of arts, poetry and poets; of books and authors; the Emirates of Sheikh Zayed, he who taught us the values of culture and knowledge; as well as the Emirati cultural vision in all its Arab and humanitarian dimensions.

“Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation works under the patronage of HH Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to promote the position of the Emirates as a cultural destination, an Arab and international meeting place for cultures and arts, and as a space that attracts Arab intellectuals and thinkers. Through its sponsorship of important Emirati cultural events, the foundation contributes to translating the cultural vision of the wise Emirati leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.”

She added, “Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation embraces cultural initiatives in the Emirates and the Arab world, and welcomes Arab culture and thought to the Emirates. We encourage events that support our heritage, authenticity and culture, such as the Arab Culture Forum, and other Emirati achievements in publishing.”

Mrs. Hoda Al-Khamis Kanoo concluded by saying, “Through its support of the fourth edition of the Arab Culture Forum in Ajman, the foundation extends its partnerships with Emirati entities and institutions working in the fields of culture, arts and community service. This reflects the foundation’s vision and mission to increase awareness of the importance of arts and to promote the values of culture, innovation and development of arts and education.”

The forum’s agenda consists of four pillars: ‘The Book - Foundations of the Arab Renaissance’, ‘The Library - Memory of the City’, ‘Printing and Publishing - Making of the Culture’ and ‘Local Book Fairs’. The first pillar of the event will feature a paper presented by Dr. Said Hareb entitled ‘The Era of Recording: The First Book”, followed by Ibrahim bin Khadem who will present the paper ‘Translation: The Beginning of the Renaissance’.

The second pillar will be presented by Bilal Al Baddour with his paper. ‘The Voluntary Passageway to Culture and Knowledge’, Ali Mohammed Al Matrouchi with his paper ‘The History of Libraries in Ajman’ and Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Ansari with his paper ‘Experiencing Abdullah’s Old Library’.

The forum will be accompanied by a local book fair in coordination with Juma Al Majid Heritage and Culture Centre, as well as a film about the reconditioning of publications.
