The talk, entitled ‘Pen to Brush: The Journey of a Scholar-Artist’ brought together featured artist, Ali Abdan, and Sameh Kaawach from ADMAF to discuss Ali’s relationship with the visual arts, both as an artist and an academic, as they together examined the UAE visual arts movement.

As one of the featured artists in the month-long exhibition which celebrates International Museum Day, the talk also explored how Ali’s own style and approach to art has developed over the years in conjunction with the evolving art landscape of the UAE. The talk also divulged how the UAE art landscape looks set to evolve into the future.

The third and final talk in the ‘In Conversation’ series takes place on June 16 at 7:00pm in Emirates Palace Gallery.
